The ADAVB Reading Room provides a specialized information service which supports and reflects the information needs of its members and staff.  Access is restricted to members of the Victorian Branch of the Australian Dental Association. Members will need to log in using their Federal user name and password.

HOURS OF OPERATION
The Reading Room is open at the following times, excluding public holidays:

Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
Thursday 5pm-7pm. By appointment only. (Contact Marg Frewin at least 24 hours prior to arrange visit.)

To ensure our Knowledge Management Officer is available to assist you, it is advisable to contact the Reading Room before your visit. 

Although located in Melbourne, country and regional members are most welcome to contact us for assistance with their information needs.

SERVICES

The Reading Room has a varied collection of books, government reports and conference proceedings and subscribes to a variety of dental journals, some of which members may access in their home or office.  For more information on electronic journal access, please contact our Knowledge Management Officer.

The Knowledge Management Officer is also available to conduct research for members using the Internet and other research tools.  Members may also utilize the Inter-library Loan system for material not held by the Reading Room.  Costs may be incurred in securing some items, and these costs will be passed on to members.

The ADA Inc. National Online Library will offer shortly ADA members access to a number of electronic resources including journals, newsletters and e-books.  This will compliment the ADAVB’s existing collections and electronic journals service.

FACILITIES

The Reading Room is equipped with 2 public use PCs, containing a range of open source software together with internet access.  A further two hot desk spaces, with internet access, are available for members who wish to use their own laptops.  A photocopier/scanner is also available for member use.
