ADAVB Newsletter Advertising

The ADAVB Inc. newsletter, Victorian Dentist, is distributed both in hard copy and electronically in the first half of each month, 11 times per year (February–December) to about 3,800 dentists.

Victorian Dentist covers:

·         Up-to-date news and information about policies and regulations

·         Advocacy

·         A clinical update

·         Financial overviews

·         Continuing professional development information

·         A service promotion section for suppliers to advertise their services.

The advertising requirements below govern the acceptance of advertising material.

The following types of advertisements are available:

·         Display advertisement: Each page of the Victorian Dentist is divided into a 4 x 4 grid making up 16 units. Prices are calculated on the display ad size (i.e. 2 units, 4 units, half page, full page). Artwork should be sent as a recognised desktop publishing format (high-resolution PDF preferred). Please email newsletter@adavb.org for further details. All adverts are subject to editorial approval before they are printed in the newsletter (see Advertising Guidelines  for more information).

·         Classified advertisement: Classified ads are placed on the Classifieds Page at the back of the newsletter. Classifieds are text only (up to 50 words) – no logos or graphics can be included. They are set under a category heading, e.g. Positions Vacant, Practice for Sale, Practice for Lease, Equipment for Sale, Services and Staffing Agencies.

·         Insert: An insert is a loose-leaf printed advertisement in the form of a flyer or brochure that is individually inserted into the newsletter. Advertisers have the option of emailing the artwork/PDF file to the ADAVB for printing or send the printed inserts directly to ADAVB printers (Newlitho). For an insert to be placed in the Victorian Dentist, it must be given prior editorial approval (see Advertising Guidelines  for more information).

·         ADAVB electronic services – CPD advertising – e-flyers: Recognised affiliated bodies and dental schools are entitled to have one CPD event per year advertised to ADAVB members via one ADAVB electronic direct mail (eDM) at no cost. The event is listed in one Branch monthly electronic CPD eDM with a link to the event flyer.

·         Premium reserved space advertisement display ads: Premium reserved spaces include Outside Back Cover (full page), Inside Front Cover (full page), Inside Back Cover (full page or half page). These spaces must be pre-booked for a full year (i.e. 11 x ad pack). Artwork can be changed each month.

Copy deadline

All display and classified copy must be submitted to ADAVB by the 1st day of the month preceding the month of publication (e.g. by 1st May for the June issue). Copy deadline for inserts is due by 15th of each month.

Distribution

Distribution of the newsletter can be anticipated by the second week of the month. The e-newsletter is uploaded on the 1st of each month at www.adavb.net ˃ My ADAVB ˃ Newsletter (login only).

Advertising of training courses

Advertising of training courses or any CPD event is restricted to courses conducted by the ADA (including Branches, Groups and Affiliated Societies), or by Australian dental schools and public/regulatory agencies. 

Advertising guidelines

Advertisements are accepted subject to editorial approval and compliance with the Newsletter Advertising Requirements. The ADAVB reserves the right, as it deems appropriate, and without prior notice to the supplier, to withdraw material submitted for inclusion in its newsletter. Payment

Members and non-members will be issued with an invoice once the newsletter is distributed to members with the option of paying by BPay or PayWay or by returning the invoice payment slip with credit card details or a cheque.

Rates

The Branch offers a member rate and a non-member rate. A membership discount (i.e. member rate) applies to ADA members (Victorian Branch and interstate) when supplying advertisements in their own name and related to the practice of dentistry. Commercial advertisements submitted by ADA members do not attract the discounted rate.

 

Design service

ADAVB offers an artwork service for designing advertisements (see Newsletter Advertising Rates and Booking Form on the right for rates). Artwork costs are a one-off payment.
